Careers and Employability Teams are growing, and the recruitment of senior staff has become more challenging. This has led to more University Careers Services taking the decision to create their own talent pipeline to grow their own new leaders.
When the best practitioners are promoted to management positions, it can be difficult to juggle the required change in mindset from operational to strategic with the additional responsibilities of managing people. Even the best practitioners need some help to stop being so hands on and start consulting, negotiating, managing, and leading.
We are excited to launch the Gradconsult Emerging Leaders Development Programme.
Working alongside learning and development specialists, it has been designed by careers professionals who understand the challenges, opportunities and context that practitioners are working in, especially as they move into leadership roles. It is fully rooted in the careers and employability sector and includes case studies, panel discussions and opportunities to learn from shared experiences with other practitioners. All delivered by Emma Moore, Rebecca Fielding and Mike Grey from the Gradconsult Team who are truly 'of the sector, and for the sector'.
The programme consists of 5 modules which explore key leadership areas through the lens of careers and employability practice. Each module is 3 hours long and will take place online. A brief overview of each module is provided below. To enable participants to make positive changes to their ways of working, all modules contain a minimum of 60% interactive activities, with plenty of opportunities for discussion, social learning and networking. Each session will also be accompanied by a list of useful resources and recommended reading.
The culmination of the programme is an in-person event. Participants meet to discuss "hot topics" within the sector with a panel of careers super stars at an exclusive panel event. The event finishes with a networking lunch and a chance to cement networks and celebrate achievements.
Cohort 1 of the programme is open for bookings now and will run from 27th April 2023 - 6th July 2023. Cost per delegate is £950 + VAT.
If you have any questions about the programme or would like to book a place please contact Emma Moore, email@example.com, 07877 651411.
