Three of the Gradconsult team have had the honour of being chosen to deliver TEDx Talks in recent times. If you have not had the chance to view them, they are all included below. We hope you find them interesting; feel free to share them with your colleagues, clients, students and graduates.
I would personally like to thank all the people that have sent such lovely comments to me since my talk went live last week.
Here is my TED Talk delivered at the first ever TEDx Coventry University reflecting on a decade working in placements and employability.
Introducing Expectation Man.....
Mike's talk: The work ready graduate conundrum
According to Mike Grey, In the UK, higher education and student experience has improved in recent years but this has also put pressure on graduates to become work ready upon graduation. Mike lays out an ideal balance between employees and graduates and offers ideas that can make it happen. And watch out for Mike's favourite superhero: Expectation Man!
Rebecca is the Northern Power Woman! Her talk is titled, "Mind the expectation gap"
For most of her career, Rebecca has been involved in the recruitment and development of graduates in the UK. Throughout the years she has noticed that there is a big difference between what graduates expect they will be doing after they graduate, and what they actually end up doing. Rebecca explains how this expectation gap is no good for students, graduates, or employers. In her talk, Rebecca closes this expectation gap by sharing research, de-bunking myths and telling stories about all of the real and fabulous opportunities that are available out there.

Charlie is Mindset Man! His talk is called, "Forget employability, it is all about mindset"
After having interviewed, hired and developed hundreds and hundreds of graduates over the last 12 years, Charlie believes that mindset matters more than employability. In fact, he believes that you should forget focusing on employability and start focusing on mindset. In this TEDx talk, Charlie answers the questions to “Why do some graduates do much better than others?”, and “Why do some graduates respond to stressful situations better than others?”. Here, Charlie reveals the differences between a fixed and growth mindset, and explains how your mindset can unlock your potential.
